Dr. David Kyle is Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of California, Davis. He has mentored/coached both students and colleagues for the last ten years, including helping new professors through annual workshops on teaching and research. Before becoming a professor, David worked for an an offshore investment company, an occupational placement agency, and was director of a non-profit foundation in Miami to aid Jamaicans. As a professor he has conducted research on international migration and cross-cultural brokering in South America and Europe. His work has been cited by numerous major news publications, including The New York Times and Fortune magazine, and has appeared on the CBS Evening News with Dan Rather (television). David is currently writing his third book (with Suzanne Shanahan), "Brokered Bodies: Engineering Families in the Age of Mercury," and, with Helena Ståhl, a fourth book: "Mentoring the New Apprentice from Student to Senior Executive: A Personal Growth Approach." David has a college degree in psychology and a Ph.D. in sociology from Johns Hopkins University; he is also a Jazz pianist, an avid sailor, and speaks Spanish fluently.

Helen Magnusson works as a Life Coach and is educated in Coaching for Life, family constellations, grief counselling, psychosynthesis and nutrition counselling. She also has a degree in acting. She has previously worked as an assistant VP in the corporate- and film industries, as a book publisher, an interior designer and a nurse at a cancer treatment clinic.
