More wellness in Sweden. We are enthusiastically working on changing the current debate about ”sickness” to a debate about ”wellness”, and how we as a company can contribute to better health and well being in our country. This is why we have decided to work together with our partner RelaxU and the concept “Frisk”(“Healthy”).
Background
In the year 1997, the sickness from work cost the state 51 billion Swedish kronor. By 2003, the figures had more than doubled to 107 billion Swedish kronor. During the 1990s, the occurrence of psychological sickness has dramatically risen. The fastest growing psychological problem for 16 to 29 year olds it is the chronic fatigue. Other growing problems are social phobia, stress, anxiety and depression. We talk daily about sick or burned out people. We often hear people say they feel “burned out” and for many of us, as individuals and as companies, we focus on the unwell rather than on the healthy.
Concept Frisk ( ”Healthy”)
RelaxU Medical Care is a company that started in 2005 with the goal of increasing the number of healthy people in Sweden and to offer world class healthcare. In cooperation with three other companies; Ståhl+Partners, BOW Development and Svenska KBT Institute (Swedish Cognitive Behavior Therapy Institute) have developed a one year process with the goal to have a positive, concrete effect on the number of healthy people in Sweden by working with companies within the Swedish marketplace.
In addition to their cooperation with Ståhl+Partners in the ”Frisk” concept, RelaxU works with the Bangkok Hospital Group offering first class health care, medical care and dental care at 30-70% lower prices. Read more at www.relaxu.nu
Goals
The concept ”FRISK” is a measurable method for investments within “Healthy and Wholesome” and will give a company;
- Greater health
- Increased rate of employee attendance (reduced absenteeism)
- Higher efficiency
- Higher productivity
Process
The process will look different for the 3 different categories, common to all 3 categories are:
Need analysis
RelaxU with the concept ”Frisk” always makes a need analysis of each company where the respective company receives an analysis showing how well they feel. In the need analysis management and colleagues are interviewed and facts are collected for a health inventory. The need analysis always results in the suggestion of a concrete action plan.
Healthcare inventory of the companies
Part of the need analysis is the completion of individual questionnaires featuring open questions about participants’ mental and physical conditions along with the measuring of BMI, blood pressure, weight and physical fitness.
Specific action plans
The action plan will define 3 different categories consisting of participants and managers: Healthy / “At-Risk” / Sick. Based on the results and differences between the different groups a tailor made action plan is made for the company.
Delivery
Regardless of category, we focus on certain steps in the process are constant:
- Clear set, measurable goal for the project by the company’s management
- Overall goals that always are broken down into detailed goals which are continuously followed up by the management
- Sell in of the process by the management and RelaxU together to the staff
- Voluntary participation, no one will participate in a process without choosing it
- Individual interviews and need analysis
- Individuals set specific, measurable goals
- Individual goals correlated to company goals
- Training over longer time
- Training that builds on specific, practical and applicable methods
- Individual coaching for every participants
- The management and RelaxU have frequent contact and follow-up
- The management is actively engaged during the whole process
- The process is always finished with diplomas and a final session
